A Brave New World: The Great American Interchange
For millions of years the two continents of the western hemisphere remained entirely separate
from one another, as a result each had its own unique assortment of diverse and exotic
animals. This all changed 10 million years ago when a land bridge began to close the gap
between the two land masses allowing many animals to migrate both north and south. Who were these strange animals on both continents, and what impact did they have upon each other and the environment?
