Don’t miss the July 20th Membership Meeting

Join Derek Demeter, director of the Emil Buehler Planetarium, rockhound, and fossil hunter as we explore the geological and paleontological history for Florida. Specimens will be exhibited from the earliest sea life of the Eocene epoch to giant megafauna found in the Pleistocene. Guests will also be able to come up and explore many examples of the rocks and fossils found in Florida such as agates, calcified corals and mollusks, wavelite, vivianite, and marine and terrestrial fossils.

Seminal State College logoSeminole State has an online alumni spotlight of Derek’s journey to becoming the Planetarium manager. Seminole State has four campuses located in central Florida. The original campus is located on Lake Mary in Sanford where the Emil Buehler Planetarium is located.
