DESCRIPTION:Hello Members! \nDon’t forget 🙂\nOur Annual Member Field Trip\,\nthe GMSPB Clam Break\nis coming up soon. \n********************************* \nCome to the Sept 19 meeting – at COX Science Center\nthis month – to learn more and see samples of what\nyou might find!  \n********************************* \nDEADLINE to sign up\nis Sunday October 6 \n********************************* \nProper shoes required. Closed toe. No sandals.\nNo smoking in the work area. \nEye protection needed. \nHere are more details. \nAnnual Gem Club MEMBER\nField Trip \nSaturday\, September 28\n10 AM – 4 PM \n  \nCost \n$20 per adult participant\n$10 per child\nLocation Melbourne\, FL     \n  \nMEMBER attendance is limited to 20 people – first come\, first served.  \n\nPlease email Anthony Leong at firstvice@gmspb.org and include the following: \nEach Member Name/Phone number (if under 18\, please include the age)/preferred email address. You can mail a check or use a Cash App like Zelle to get me payment.  Once your payment is received – your spot is secured.  I will email you the event waivers. \n  \nEvent: There is no digging involved.  You will be breaking coquina rock material down to expose calcified crystal specimens in clam shells\, rock and who knows what else. \nMaterials/Tools to bring: small chipping tools\, mid to large sledge hammers.  Buckets and EYE Protection.  Small tools to trim down the coquina to the crystal portion. Flat and pointed Chisels. Wedges. \n  \n*** All rock material you break down must be scooped up and brought to the front of the site and dumped into a pile.  We will try to have a large hand truck or wagon/cart to help with this portion.
