Proper shoes required. Closed toe. No sandals.
No smoking in the work area.

Eye protection needed.

Annual Gem Club MEMBER
Field Trip

Saturday, September 28
10 AM – 4 PM

Cost

$20 per adult participant
$10 per child
Location Melbourne, FL    

MEMBER attendance is limited to 20 people – first come, first served. 

Please email Anthony Leong at firstvice@gmspb.org and include the following:

Each Member Name/Phone number (if under 18, please include the age)/preferred email address. You can mail a check or use a Cash App like Zelle to get me payment.  Once your payment is received – your spot is secured.  I will email you the event waivers.

Event: There is no digging involved.  You will be breaking coquina rock material down to expose calcified crystal specimens in clam shells, rock and who knows what else.

Materials/Tools to bring: small chipping tools, mid to large sledge hammers.  Buckets and EYE Protection.  Small tools to trim down the coquina to the crystal portion. Flat and pointed Chisels. Wedges.

*** All rock material you break down must be scooped up and brought to the front of the site and dumped into a pile.  We will try to have a large hand truck or wagon/cart to help with this portion. If someone wants to bring one, let me know.  Otherwise, you will have to just carry it in your bucket to the pile ***
